Learn how to bring a food product to market

Southern University’s Louisiana Small Business Development Center (616 Harding Blvd.) hosts a food product class Saturday at 8:30 a.m. Dr. Fatemeh Malekian, an SU food science and nutrition professor who also works with LSU’s Food Incubator program, will give tips on how to take a recipe and make it a marketable item that can be sold in grocery stores. In the workshop, attendees will learn information on how to develop a product, food safety, FDA regulations for nutrition facts and more.
