Lava Cantina celebrates its first birthday

Perkins Rowe’s rock ‘n’ roll and Tex-Mex restaurant, Lava Cantina, celebrates its first birthday with a week of events starting Sunday with a jazz brunch at 11 a.m. Next Tuesday, the restaurant will host a ladies’ night happy hour 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Wednesday will see the official launch of Trivia, Tacos & Tequila, which will feature an appearance from New Orleans Saints punter Thomas Morestead, who is hosting the event to benefit his foundation What You Give Will Grow. Next Friday will bring the birthday bash, 10 p.m.-1 a.m. There will be a musical performance from a Kiss tribute band as well as giveaways, food, cocktails and more.
