LASM shows off Ancient Egypt collection

Travel back in time and view pieces on loan in the Louisiana Art & Science Museum’s Ancient Egypt gallery. The exhibit features 20 artifacts from the Ambassador Jefferson Caffery Collection at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette. Caffery was the United States Ambassador to Egypt in the late 1940s and a frequent guest at archeological digs. Among the items are the heart scarab and terracotta artifacts that date back to 2,600 B.C. The museum is open Tuesday-Friday 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Admission is $7.25 for adults and $6.25 for children 2-12 and seniors 65 and older.
