Kung Fu Panda strikes stores

Jack Black goes cartoon with his refined slacker routine for this hilarious sleeper hit of the summer and Dreamworks’ best family movie since Over The Hedge. Black stars as a panda called by destiny to become a kung fu master and fulfill a prophecy that will save his village from destruction. Even he doesn’t believe in himself, or anything else really beyond his next meal, but with some tough love from Dustin Hoffman’s Mr. Miyagi-esque martial arts master, Black’s bear gains the confidence he needs to get ‘er done. Beyond the stellar and stylish Asian-inspired animation, the film’s strength lies in its supporting cast. Jackie Chan, Angelina Jolie, Seth Rogen, Wayne Knight and Michael Clark Duncan all squeeze in sharp one-liners to keep kids and parents laughing. Rated PG.
