Kill ‘Jill’
Those who loathe the juvenile hijinks of Adam Sandler have two reasons to avoid Jack and Jill this Friday. The blockbuster comedy star plays both a flustered family man preparing for a big Thanksgiving celebration and his own needy, clingy, impossibly cloying twin sister who refuses to take a hint and leave. Sandler’s act and some sporadic sketches on Saturday Night Live (the famous “Gap girls” bit in particular) hinted at his love for feminine alter-egos for years, but with Jack and Jill he is finally going full drag in a feature length movie. The cast includes Sandler regulars and friends like David Spade, Tim Meadows and Norm MacDonald, but also some surprises in the form of a rare film appearance by the semi-retired Dana Carvey and an appearance by Al Pacino who plays himself in the film. Katie Holmes and Nick Swardson co-star. Rated PG-13.
