‘Just Listen to Yourself’ poetry reading

In celebration of National Poetry Month, the State Library of Louisiana’s Center for the Book will hold its second Just Listen to Yourself event. The program will be held at the State Library next Wednesday, April 11 from noon to 1:30 p.m. and will be hosted by Louisiana Poet Laureate Julie Kane. For the 2012 event, Julie Kane will introduce 12 Louisiana poets to read a selection from their work. Participating poets are Darrell Bourque, Kelly Clayton, Ashley Mace Havird, David Havird, Ava Leavell Haymon, Clemonce Heard, Charles Jolivette, David Middleton, Alison Pelegrin, Michelle Pichon and Gail White. The lunchtime program is free and open to the public. Attendees may bring their lunch and come and go as their schedules allow.
