Just ‘In Time’

Original science fiction auteurs are a rare species today, and though he is neither prolific or a household name, Gattaca and The Truman Show writer Andrew Niccol has quietly established himself as a talented filmmaker with intriguing ideas. This Friday, his latest high-concept thriller In Time arrives. Set in a future when scientists have discovered a way to switch off the aging gene at 25-years-old, and humans must work to earn more of their lifespan with days and years used as currency, Justin Timberlake plays a young man who unexpectedly finds himself with, literally, more time on his hands than he knows what to do with. As if he had a few million dollars in stolen cash, he must go on the run to elude corrupt authorities that want to steal that time back. Amanda Seyfried, Olivia Wilde co-star. Rated PG-13.
