June Bug cocktail

With the summer temperatures already spiking well above 100 degrees and the air conditioners in our cars and our homes cranked to the max, the prospect of a delicious, cooling cocktail is even more mouthwatering than usual. The tropical June Bug, a classic mixed drink usually made with melon liqueur, is a satisfying sippable this time of year, even if it is named after the pesky beetles that seem to be everywhere in the southern summer. This recipe makes more of a punch version, and forgoes the Midori for a scoop of sherbert, making it a pinch to whip up for a backyard grill.

Ingredients:
3 cups ginger ale
4 tablespoons grenadine
4 tablespoons orange juice
3 scoops orange sherbet
White rum

Directions:
Blend together ginger ale, grenadine, orange juice, rum and sherbet. Pour into ice-filled cocktail glasses. (Recipe courtesy Better Homes and Gardens)
