Juban’s honors Jess Stonestreet Jackson next Wednesday
Jess Stonestreet Jackson was the founder of Jackson Family Estates, a vineyard best known for its Kendall-Jackson bottlings, and a wine industry pioneer. A former San Francisco litigator who went from dabbling in winemaking to creating one of the more popular Chardonnays with the Kendall-Jackson Vintner’s Reserve, Jackson died in April 2011 due to complications from cancer. Juban’s will honor Jackson with a tribute gathering and dinner Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 6:30 p.m. with special guest sommelier Larry O’Brien.
The menu includes dishes paired with a selection of wines and produce provided by Jackson Family Estates Organic Gardens. Among the dishes is Seafood Timbale with smoked salmon mousse, Gulf lump crab and Maine lobster; Death by Gumbo with roasted bobwhite quail stuffed with Jazzmen rice, andouille and Gulf oysters; a loin of elk venison and much more. The dinner is $75 plus tax and gratuity. For more information, call 346-8422.
