Give a singer-songwriter an acoustic guitar after a tumultuous period in his or her life and the results are usually stunning. Like many others before him, this is the case for Idaho singer-songwriter Josh Ritter. His latest album, The Beast in Its Tracks, was written and tracked after Ritter’s divorce. However, the album is quite hopeful—he has called it his proudest moment, and the process seems to have restored his faith in love. Check out Matthew Sigur’s interview with Ritter here. Ritter will perform at 7 p.m. Sunday at Manship Theatre. Milk Carton Kids will open. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased here.
