Thanksgiving must-have: Oyster dressing Preferred meat: Fried turkey On his earliest thanksgiving memory:“Every year my dad has got to have these dark brown biscuits; they’re almost burnt-looking. So I remember being really young, and I was looking in the oven, saying, ‘Dad, these biscuits are burning!’ He waved me off, saying ‘That’s how I like them.’ I kept saying, ‘No, Dad, these are really burning.’ Smoke was coming off of them. Eventually he listened to me—it turned out they really were burnt. To this day he really likes those dark-colored biscuits, and whenever I think about Thanksgiving, I think about burning biscuits.” (Photo by Jeff Roedel)
