Jewish Film Fest at Manship
Woody Allen’s seminal film about Hollywood blacklisting, The Front, headlines this year’s Baton Rouge Jewish Film Festival, a cinematic exploration of the Jewish cultural experience that you can enjoy from a cozy seat in the Manship Theatre. Films range from the darkly romantic Gloomy Sunday, which tackles the urban legend behind the notorious “Hungarian Suicide Song,” to the lighthearted coming-of-age comedy Max Minsky & Me, about a girl striving to meet her handsome prince—by learning to play basketball. Tickets are $8.50 per screening. The full schedule can be found at manshiptheatre.org. (Image courtesy Columbia Pictures)
