Jambalaya Festival serving up world champion fare

Known as the jambalaya capital of the world, the town of Gonzales will honor the traditional Cajun rice dish it’s famous for at the 41st annual Jambalaya Festival this Memorial Day weekend at the Gonzales Civic Center. The festival features world champion jambalaya served daily, live music, entertainment, carnival rides and cooking contests. There will also be a 5K and one-mile fun run at 8:30 a.m. with a car show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The festival runs from Thursday, May 22 through Sunday May 25. (File photo)
