Jack Black, Mos Def comedy Be Kind Rewind DVD out now

There’s a certain amount of leeway viewers have to give mind-boggling writer/director Michel Gondry, like those at a theme park just have to trust that the stony-eyed rollercoaster operator isn’t going to let them die. In this breakneck comedy, Jack Black and Mos Def star as video store clerks who must remake all of the movies in the store after an accident erases the tapes. Lookout for hilarious, low-budget adaptations of Ghostbusters, Driving Miss Daisy and more as Black and Def’s versions become more popular than the originals. Rated PG-13.
