Is a medical spa the right choice for you?

A 2005 article on PlasticSurgery.com reported, “In the ever-expanding world of plastic and cosmetic surgery, the medical spa, a marriage of science and beauty, is becoming a major trend. It has become a sort of one-stop beauty and loveliness shop for skin treatments plus surgical rejuvenations that feature, at a minimum, laser treatments, facial peels, microdermabrasion, collagen and Botox®.”

The trend has only increased in the past few years, with medical spas typically offering professional services under a doctor’s care that go beyond the treatments offered at day spas plus an environment that is more appealing than the surgeon’s office where you might go for more invasive cosmetic surgical procedures. While some medical spas include common non-medical spa treatments such as massages or aromatherapy, they are mostly dedicated to serious medical procedures to solve the most common afflictions to everyday cosmetic health concerns. Removing unwanted hair, unsightly brown spots, rough skin, wrinkles and creases are what medical spas do best.
