‘Inside’ out
Inside Job director Charles Ferguson had the quote of the night at last week’s Oscars when he said, “Forgive me, I must start by pointing out that three years after our horrific financial crisis caused by massive fraud, not a single financial executive has gone to jail, and that’s wrong.” Ferguson was accepting the Academy Award for Best Documentary, and his searing indictment of the financial insiders and politicians who aided and abetted the global financial crisis of 2008 that continues to hobble the American economies growth today has arrived on DVD for the masses to dissect this week. Narrated by Matt Damon, the film includes mountains of detailed analysis, research and insight into how a rogue financial industry further corrupted politics and the U.S. regulatory apparatus, and academia to bring our economy to its knees, and cost Americans their jobs, homes and savings. Rated PG-13.
