Hunan makes Top 100 lists

Jeff Cheng (pictured), owner of the beloved Hunan on Sherwood Forest, recently made the national list of Top 100 Chinese Restaurants, put together by trade magazine Chinese Restaurant News. Hunan, whose walls are peppered with photos of Cheng and celebrities such as former Vice President Dick Cheney and Yo Yo Ma, made the list for three categories: Top 100 Overall Excellence, Top 100 Asian Fusion and Top 100 Local Favorites. Cheng says some 45,000 restaurants are nominated each year, and his is the only Louisiana eatery to make the list, which includes top restaurants from Brooklyn to Vegas to Los Angeles.
