The ladies behind the counter know what’s up. Not only do they keep things moving, they call you by name and treat you like family. And what the restaurant lacks in décor, it certainly makes up with its menu, packed with feel-good favorites, some vegetarian delights, fresh salads, hearty po-boys and satisfying sandwiches.

For the price, it’s hard to pass up the home-style plate lunches, especially Mama’s pot roast (pictured).
