Hot Lunch: Tiger Sushi
What better time than lunch to take advantage of sushi specials? If you’re in the area, try Tiger Sushi on Sherwood Forest. Lunch hour does not always lend itself to multi-course meals, but ordering an appetizer can be worth it, especially if you’re waiting for your friends to make it through traffic. Tiger Sushi is one of several places in town with a baked salmon appetizer ($9.50). Of this I’m always a fan. Warm and sweet, it just melts in your mouth. If you plan to order one of the lunch bento boxes, you probably won’t even need an appetizer because you’ll get a whole tray of food. Roughly $8-$10, the lunch bento boxes come with soup, salad, fruit, rice, gyoza dumplings and a California roll. There are sushi and sashimi bento box choices, as well as your usual chicken, beef and shrimp options—like sweet and sour, teriyaki and tempura. Or show team spirit with the Saints roll ($12.50), which is white fish, snow crab, masago and avocado wrapped with seaweed and lightly fried, served with eel sauce and a spicy mayo.—Mary Wall
