Help send Boogie to the Blues Challenge

It’s a fair question: When is it Boogie time? This Saturday night, in fact. Jonathan “Boogie” Long & the Soul Explosion headlines the Baton Rouge Blues Society fundraiser at downtown’s Boudreaux & Thibodeaux’s. The $10 cover charge helps to send Boogie (who has come a long way since showing up to jam nights at Tabby’s Blues Box) to the annual International Blues Challenge in Tennessee (Lil Ray Neal took third place last year). Blues duo Ace & Mudcat perform on the balcony from 6 p.m. 9 p.m. Boogie’s show starts at 9 p.m. 21 and up. (Photo courtesy Boogie Long)
