Hello 225: Meet Elizabeth Eaton Steger

Age: 31
Occupation: Special Projects Coordinator for Dept. of Health and Hospitals
Twitter: @tweeaton

Your theme song: Hmmm…probably “Run the World (Girls)” by Beyonce. I can’t sit still whenever I hear it.

Most thought-provoking read: To Kill a Mockingbird has been one of my favorites since high school. The Prophet by Khalil Gibran is good, too.

Favorite blog and why: Don’t really read blogs, but I like Bite & Booze because I love eating, cooking and drinking.

Best place to meet up with friends: Hands down, Beausoleil. We always have a great time.

Clothing/accessory you can’t do without: I don’t know if it is really an accessory but my wedding ring. I NEVER take it off.

Who inspires you the most: I’m inspired by those who never give up, who accomplish the difficult and the impossible. I love our locals who dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to the progress and future of our community.

The best dish you can cook yourself: Depends on who you ask…my uncle would probably say meatloaf, my husband would probably say lasagna. I don’t know where I personally stand on this issue but I would probably say Crawfish étouffée.

Coffee order: Regular coffee with cream and sugar…Boring, I know.

Ice cream flavor: I used to be a chocolate with rainbow sprinkles-kinda girl but I’ve lately been migrating to Pralines and Cream.

Who is the most famous person you’ve met? Probably Michael Stipe. I was about 20 years old living in Athens, GA. I was so star-struck that all I could do was giggle and smile like a moron for the first five minutes. But his kindness and creativeness just overwhelm you.

Ideal lunch date: Bill Murray. I would just love to hear what he had to say. I get Twitter notifications on my phone every time he tweets. His wit never fails to make me laugh.

Best meal from the past week: My chicken enchiladas.

What is always in your fridge: 2% organic milk, blueberries, Fage Yogurt, broccoli and mixed greens.

Favorite fictional character: Ignatius J. Reilly.

Accomplishment you are most proud of: That’s a tough one. I don’t know.

Baton Rouge needs: Better Mass Transit and to be more pedestrian and bike friendly.
