Heaux-Jeaux’s opens on Airline

New bar Heaux Jeaux’s Wine and Spirits (Map it!), which opened next door to Pimanyoli’s on Airline Highway, offers Gonzales/Prairieville commuters and residents on the way home from work a pleasant, smoke-free place to unwind with a glass of wine or a cocktail. Patrons can also catch live music at least three times a week—the intimate space has already racked up an impressive list of guest musicians, from Chris Leblanc to Jodi James, as well as a weekly open mic night hosted by Kirk Holder. The bar also boasts a special Napa Technology wine dispenser that lets guests grab a taste, half-glass or full glass of several varieties, kept crisp at a cool 68 degrees. The pour station is a perfect accessory for the monthly wine tastings, as well as frequent wine and canvas events the bar hosts. They’re also holding a special event to raise money for Friends of the Animals on Aug. 25, with a live performance by David St. Romain.
