Out-of-town bands We Are Scientists and PAWS head to Baton Rouge this weekend. The bands will perform at Spanish Moon Saturday. Doors open at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 online. The rock bands are touring in support of new albums. We Are Scientists released its fifth album TV en Français in March to critical acclaim. Chris Coady, who has worked with Grizzly Bear and Yeah Yeah Yeahs, produced the effort. PAWS, a punk rock band from Scotland, released its self-produced sophomore album Youth Culture Forever last week. Like the band’s debut, PAWS’s latest is full of sugary hooks, albeit with darker twists and turns this time around. The tour has taken both bands around the country, but has gained some unwarranted backlash from Morrissey, who allegedly demanded the bands cancel a show in California so he could have the venue all to himself. Check out Matthew Sigur’s interview with PAWS.
