One of the hottest blues-rock acts currently touring visits Baton Rouge this weekend. Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears will perform at Chelsea’s Café Friday night. Based out of Austin, Texas, the band mixes attitude and groove. The group’s latest album, Electric Slave, is 11 tracks of jams that has garnered critical acclaim for its mix of gigantic riffs and vintage funk. Often compared to “The Godfather of Soul” James Brown, Lewis is an act you shouldn’t miss. Tickets are $15 and are available here. The show starts at 10:30 p.m.
