The Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra teams up with the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra and Chorus for its latest Masterworks concert. Masterworks V kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the River Center Theatre for the Performing Arts. In this concert, the Baton Rouge and Acadiana orchestras and chorus groups will team up for a performance of Gustav Mahler’s “Symphony No. 2.” Mahler’s piece took six years for him to complete and displays his lifelong view of the beauty of the afterlife and resurrection.
