Healthy vending machines appearing in BR

Baton Rougean Chris Lemoine is bringing vending machines back to Baton Rouge schools—but they’re not filled with artificially sweetened sodas and sticky sweets. His Fresh Healthy Vending Machines are instead stocked with items like yogurt, soymilk, smoothies, and even fresh fruits and vegetables. Only products that meet a certain healthy and/or organic ingredient standard can be stocked. Although they’ve only placed a machine in one school so far—Episcopal High—its popularity makes Lemoine hopeful that more schools will soon embrace the concept. And schools aren’t the only places these machines are popping up; fitness centers, colleges and even hospitals are starting to introduce them.
