Heads up: The Wiz kicks off next week

New Venture Theatre will host a series of performances of The Wiz, the classic R&B musical adaptation of the book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. This favorite first opened on Broadway in 1975 and is sure to delight with a lively mixture of pop, gospel and soul music. The production starts next Thursday and runs through July 28. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 3 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are $20, and all performances will be held at the BREC Independence Park Theatre.
