Heads up: Small Town Chefs Award Dinner coming in June
South Louisiana chefs will be honored at Country Roads’ Small Town Chefs Award Dinner at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 26, at Louisiana Culinary Institute (10550 Airline Hwy.). The awards are presented to “culinary stars” working in towns with fewer than 25,000 residents. This year’s awards will be presented to Cody and Samantha Carroll of Hot Tails Restaurant in New Roads, Jeremy Langlois of Latil’s Landing Restaurant and Café Burnside at Houmas House Plantation in Darrow, and Keith and Nealy Frentz of Lola Restaurant in Covington. The event includes a tasting menu, showcasing signature dishes from each chef, passed hors d’oeuvres from Triumph Kitchen and LCI chefs, live music from Kirk Holder, and tours of LCI’s demonstration kitchens.
Tickets are $75 per person and $70 for couples. Proceeds from the event benefit Triumph Kitchen. —Matthew Sigur
