Heads up: Nigiri Dinner at Tsunami next week

Tsunami will host an off-the-menu five-course dinner next Wednesday at 6 p.m. The dinner is for the experienced and traveled sushi fans. Each course will be paired with a specialty cocktail, wine or beer. The dinner will start with edamame with a twist served with a ginger Shisohito cocktail, then move to shrimp ceviche, crispy rice tuna, tuna nigiri and marinated ikura served with Gustave Lorentz pinot gris. The third course features seared salmon belly, albacore tuna with garlic and sesame and grilled baby octopus served with Gekkeikan black and gold sake. The fourth course will have shiitake nigiri, enoki bacon, chicken liver mousse and miso pork belly, coupled with Canebrake beer. The fifth course is dessert—a lychee and lemongrass sorbet with strawberry-infused sake. Tickets are $80 with alcohol, $60 for the nigiri sushi only. Call 346-5100 to make your reservations.
