Heads up: Death Valley Roux Rally offers gumbo cook-off

Tin Roof Brewery hosts the Death Valley Roux Rally next Saturday, March 22. The event kicks off at 9 a.m., and teams will be facing off to see who can make the best gumbo. Samples will be handed out 2 p.m.-5 p.m. K.I.D.S. (Karing is Doing Something), a non-profit founded to help and support under-privileged children and teens in the Baton Rouge area, will put on the event to benefit Youth Oasis, a local children’s homeless shelter. Admission is $10 at the door and includes drink specials and all the gumbo you can eat. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase.
