Have fun and race in the Happys5000 – Head downtown Saturday for the fifth annual Happys5000.

Head downtown Saturday for the fifth annual Happys5000, a.k.a. the Downtown Spectacular 5000 Meter Road Race. The social sporting event mixes food, music, art and exercise and begins with open registration and music from Gal Holiday and the Honky Tonk Revue at 5 p.m. at North Boulevard’s Town Square. The run starts at 6 p.m. at the intersection of North Fourth and Convention streets. A beer mile kicks off at 7:30 p.m. After the race, enjoy food, drink and music from Remedy Krewe at 8 p.m. Awards will be given at 8:15 p.m. Registration is $30.
