Haunted Hikes at Bluebonnet Swamp

BREC’s Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center, 10503 N. Oak Hills Parkway, will host Haunted Hikes on Fridays, Oct. 12, 19 and 26 from 7:30-9:30 p.m. The fee is $6 per person and the event is open to all ages. Registration is not required. Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center designs the Haunted Hikes especially for younger children as an alternative to the commercial haunted houses. Participants learn about snakes, insects, rats and other “creepy critters” as they stop at educational stations along the trail. Staff members do not use scare tactics during this program and participants are welcome to come in costume if they choose. All participants should bring a flashlight.
