Hate the ‘Game’
Based on the true story of outed CIA operative Valerie Plame, Fair Game is new in stores on DVD and Blu-ray this week. Set during the outset of the Iraq War, the film stars Naomi Watts as Plame, who finds her career as a covert operative publically compromised by Washington Post journalist Robert Novak from a state department tip shortly after her husband wrote an op-ed piece in 2003 criticizing the Bush administration’s cause for going to war in Iraq. Directed by Bourne Identity helmer Doug Liman, Fair Game is based on both memoirs written by Plame and her husband Joe Wilson who is portrayed by Sean Penn in the film. Ty Burrell and Sam Shepard co-star. Rated PG-13.
