‘Hanna’ barbaric

The apple never falls far from the tree, and in the case of the teenage protagonist in director Joe Wright’s latest thriller, Hanna, that means being raised as a ruthless assassin. In theaters Friday, Hanna stars The Lovely Bones’ Saoirse Ronan a young and very skilled killer sent on a mission by her father to covertly kill someone she doesn’t even know. Pursued across Europe by a team of agents led by Cate Blanchett, Hanna must elude her adversaries and stay on target. But once she learns more about her fateful mission, her entire existence and world view is called into crisis. She’s looking for her mark, but maybe she’ll find, for the first time, her humanity. Eric Bana co-stars. Rated R. (Image by Alex Bailey)
