Hair makeovers you’ll love
Rigsby Frederick Salon & Gallery

Model: Hallie Stewart
Stylist, Colorist and Makeup Artist: Courtney Johnson
Photographer: Aaron Hogan, Eye Wander Photo
Courtney’s notes: Hallie came into the salon with “virgin hair,” meaning her hair had never been processed with any color or highlights. It had also been quite a few months since she had had a haircut and her hair was one length with no layers. After consulting with Hallie about her cut and color, we decided to add highlights to brighten her entire look and complement her skin tone. I used a “balayage” highlighting technique to achieve her look. I concentrated the highlights around her face to brighten her complexion and bring out her beautiful blue eyes. For her cut, we decided to take off several inches of hair, add layers throughout and soften her look with a face-framing technique. The result is a beautiful weightless finish that kept her length but now shows off her cheekbones and jawline.

Anne James Hair Salon

Model: Heather Kuhlman
Color/cut/style: Joel Dyer
Makeup: Anne James
Clothes: J Jill
Products used: Neuma styling gelee, Neuma neustyling smoothing creme, Neuma argan treatment, Neuma in-control firm spray, large round brush, Make-up Designory
Photographer: Fred Frey
Stylists’ notes: Taking a step back in fashion history, bringing back voluminous hair that has old Hollywood glamour. The style has strong angles creating definitive dimension, accentuated with sutble copper highlights on a chestnut base color. Asymmetry within the interior of the design complements Heather’s facial shape. From the same haircut, as you can see, just styling differently can achieve two (or more) looks.

Anne James Hair Salon

Model: Abhi Mehrotra
Stylist: Anne James
Clothes: Banana Republic
Products used: Redken Shades color, Brocato Carve, Aveda Brilliant gel, Make-up Designory
Photographer: Fred Frey
Anne’s notes: This cut is trending now, on the East Coast and the West Coast. Clear gloss was applied to the hair to enhance shine. Freehand clipper cut, up the sides and back, it just depends how far you want to go. … Hair left long on top to lengthen the face shape; top can be shorter or grow longer for a more dramatic look. It can be styled up, reminiscent of the pompadour, forward without product for a casual look, or slicked back for a third look. It’s a versatile, easy care cut. Use a touch of Brocato Carve or Aveda Brilliant gel, and you are ready to go. A great spring and summer change!
