Gourmet holiday sale

On Thursday, Dec. 1, Renee LaCaze Granier Designs and Gourmet Girls Catering will present an open house outdoor tent with holiday foods and decorations for sale at 3025 Perkins Road near the overpass. The event will continue every Saturday leading up to Christmas, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. “We’ll have a lot of foods you can pick up for impromptu guests,” says Gourmet Girls founder Kathy Mangham (see this week’s related blog for Mangham’s entertaining tips). Look for homemade frozen shrimp Creole, iced Christmas cookies, panettone and Mangham’s homemade crackers and signature tortas—layered cheese hors d’oeuvres. Torta flavors include blue cheese and cranberry, and rustic goat cheese with olives and tomatoes, among others. There will also be plenty of handmade, natural wreaths and herb topiaries.
