Go forth and be green
Treehuggers unite for the 19th annual Louisiana Earth Day celebration downtown Sunday, April 20. This planet-loving party proves it’s easy being green after all. Learn to be a friend to Mother Earth by checking out the various activities, including the wetlands tent, recycling fair, earth market, international pavilion, earth-friendly habitat and the many agricultural exhibits and petting zoo. The All-Species parade kicks off the festival, rolling at noon down North Boulevard and winding through downtown to the new festival location near Galvez Plaza and the Old State Capitol. Music on four stages begins at 1 p.m. with the Iguanas, Marva Wright and the BMWs, Wayne Toups and Zydecajun, Lost Bayou Ramblers, Savoir Faire, Geno Delafose and French Rockin’ Boogie, the Michael Foster Project and Walter “Wolfman” Washington.
