Given your ‘Due’
In a playful update on the John Hughes classic Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Robert Downey Jr. starred last year as a neurotic father-to-be stranded across the country and trying to make it back home in time to witness the birth of his child in Due Date, new in stores this week. Just as John Candy unintentionally obstructed Steve Martin’s journey in the original, standing in the way of Downey’s trip this time around is Zach Galifianakis, a wannabe actor who thinks he’s a comedian but brings a lot more drama to Downey’s life than he ever intended. On the road, the odd couple runs into trouble of all kinds and some cameos from Jamie Foxx, Juliette Lewis and Danny McBride. Michelle Monaghan co-stars. Rated R.
