Nominations are now open for this year’s Best of 225 awards. Subscribers of our Dine, Weekender and Avenue Rouge e-newsletters will receive an email inviting them to submit their favorites in more than 50 categories. If you do not receive our free e-newsletters and would like to participate in the Best of 225 nominations, sign up on our homepage at 225batonrouge.com.

Once nominations are closed later this month, the finalists in each category will be included in a random-sample survey conducted by independent market research firm Survey Communications Inc. 225 will reveal your winners and runners-up in the July issue.

Last month renowned actress and choreographer Debbie Allen held auditions in Baton Rouge for her upcoming stage production Derek’s Song, based on the favorite songs and works of late Arts Council executive director Derek Gordon. 225’s video team was there to catch all the action as local hopefuls put their best feet forward.
