Give so it doesn’t hurt – Editorial
The Capital Area United Way has kicked off its annual campaign to raise money for some of this community’s most crucial services, nonprofits and charity organizations.
With the economy sputtering along, companies and the government cutting jobs and budgets left and right, it will be such charitable groups who are the most vulnerable: just as more people than ever are likely to need their services, they’ll have less money coming in to pay for them.
Nonprofit funding is a vicious cycle in that way.

But you can break that cycle. If you are gainfully employed, if you’re an entrepreneur who’s still plugging along, if you are with a corporation that is truly committed to this community, then it’s time to step up and pay your share to help keep United Way funded.
Our United Way supports 57 organizations which provide direct, crucial care, services and support.
Louisiana Business Inc., publisher of 225, is a proud supporter of the United Way. We encourage our employees to give back; we challenge you to do the same.
