Galatoire’s Bistro to relocate

Galatoire’s Bistro has closed, and the restaurant will move to a new location in Baton Rouge later this year. A sign taped to the front door of the Perkins Road restaurant says the restaurant shut down Sunday. The sign says the new location will open later this year in a spot more centrally located for businesses. That location will be announced later this summer; however, there have been widespread rumors it will be at the corner of Perkins and Acadian Thruway. Galatoire’s opened its Baton Rouge location in November 2005 and expanded the site a year later. The New Orleans landmark was one of the first businesses to establish a Baton Rouge location following Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and was named “Best French Dining” in last year’s Best of 225 Awards.—Timothy Boone
