Full slate of great films at Manship
Manship Theatre will be screening everything from Oscar-winning musicals to new independent films all week. Among the movies on tap this week are the 2002 award-winning musical Chicago starring Richard Gere and Catherine Zeta-Jones, the Coen Brothers’ comedy Raising Arizona, the 2012 documentary Becoming Traviata, the French films Rules of the Game and Three Worlds, and Funny Face.
Today, LSU Museum of Art will show the award-winning 2002 musical Chicago at 3 p.m. at the Manship for a Jazz Matinee. Tickets are $6 and can be purchased here.
Thursday, the Dinner and a Movie series continues with a screening of the Coen Brothers’ comedy Raising Arizona at 8 p.m. A special “Arizona” menu at Tsunami will be available before the film. Tickets for dinner and the film are $26; film only tickets are $6. After purchasing tickets, call Tsunami at 346-5100 to make your reservation.
The 2012 documentary Becoming Traviata will be screened Friday at 7 p.m. Tickets are $8.50. Check out the trailer here.
Jean Renoir’s Rules of the Game will be shown at 2 p.m. Saturday to celebrate Bastille Day. Tickets are $6.
The French cinema celebration continues Sunday at 6 p.m. with the 2012 thriller Three Worlds. Tickets are $8.50. Check out the trailer here.
Also on Sunday, the Audrey Hepburn musical Funny Face will be screened at 2 p.m. Tickets are $6.
