From ‘225’: A show-stopping roll at Waka House

In the January issue of 225, writer Danielle Mack puts the spotlight on a Baton Rouge sushi staple, Waka House. One of the restaurant’s popular items that tops the list in presentation and taste is the Mango Shrimp Tempura Rolls.

“Giant crunchy shrimp tempura and cream cheese are wrapped tightly inside a traditional sushi-meshi, or sushi rice roll,” Mack writes. “It’s topped with a generous portion of fresh peeled mango, along with avocado and masago. The seasoned, crunchy texture of the tempura shrimp combined with the sweet flavor of the fresh mango is an excellent pairing.”
