Friday offers non-stop music party downtown

The Grammy-nominated Cajun band Steve Riley & Mamou Playboys headline this week’s Live After Five (and if you haven’t yet been, there are only three concerts left this season). The outdoor action starts at 5 p.m. Friday. Afterward, flock over to Third Street to catch Baton Rouge darlings The Roebucks play on the courtyard at Happy’s Irish Pub. This intimate venue hosts a series of courtyard concerts (look for Righteous Buddha to play next Friday) from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. And the best part: No cover charge. If you’re still in party mode, walk down to Boudreaux & Thibodeaux to hear the Chris LeBlanc Band until 1 a.m.
