French Quarter Festival a foodie’s paradise
This weekend’s French Quarter Festival in New Orleans is chockfull of culinary gems, and 225 Dine has you covered. Native New Orleanian Sam North of the Murphy, Sam & Jodi show points newbies to Jack Demsey’s crab and baked macaroni ($5) and The Joint’s pulled pork and slaw ($5). “Both are Ninth Ward favorites,” he says. “I’d go for a Joint barbecue first. All sauces are made from scratch by a hubby and wife duo who were featured on Food Network; this is their passion.” Other great food stops include the redfish tacos from Juan’s Flying Burrito; GW Fins’ bananas foster; Jacques-Imo’s slow-roasted duck po-boy, and of course a meat pie or two from Ted’s Frostop.
