Frank’s in Prairieville opens for dinner

Frank’s Smokehouse in Prairieville, now open for dinner, is serving porterhouse steaks, twin filets, rib-eyes and also Frank’s Catch, an impressive seafood platter with enormous shrimp, catfish, crab-cakes and more. Restaurant cook Frank Dedman Jr. says his wife’s cousin, Kathy Patureau, joined the team, enabling the family restaurant to open in the evenings. Patrons can pile up boiled crawfish and shrimp at market price and rinse their seafood feasts with nightly drink specials on cocktails such as Long Island iced teas and chocolate martinis. Nightly dinner specials range from crab bisque in a sourdough bowl to redfish tossed with crabmeat Hollandaise.New dinner hours are Tuesday through Thursday, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The breakfast and lunch hours will remain the say: 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
