Flight of the Valkyrie
At the height of World War II one of the biggest threats to Hitler’s power came from within his own Nazi Party. Wanting to end the war, a group of high-ranking German officers hatched a plot to assassinate their Furor and seize control of the government. Risking their lives, these men dared to take down the most ruthless dictator of the time. Debuting Christmas day, Tom Cruise stars as the real life instigator of the revolt, Col. Claus von Stauffenberg, and is joined by an impeccable supporting cast of co-conspirators: Kenneth Branagh, Bill Nighy, Terrence Stamp and Tom Wilkinson. Valkyrie looks like a near masterpiece for Bryan Singer, the director who showed so much promise with his debut a decade ago, The Usual Suspects. Rated PG-13.?
