First Wednesday at Baton Rouge Gallery

Tonight, the Baton Rouge Gallery presents the monthly First Wednesday opening reception for the gallery’s August show, sharing three captivating bodies of work from artist members Dawn Black, Scott Finch and Lisa Qualls—her first since becoming an artist member last fall. Sip wine, munch on hors d’ouvres and gaze at Dawn Black’s investigation of current events and conventions through the lens of masquerade, Scott Finch’s grayscale procession of worms, monkeys and foxes trying to sort out their places in the cosmos and Lisa Qualls’ striking look at the power of tribal objects and costumes to create an altered sense of reality.
