Written and directed by Boys Don’t Cry’s Kimberly Peirce, Stop-Loss uses the practice of redeploying servicemen and women against their will after their military commitment is completed to examine the nature of bravery and patriotism. Ryan Phillipe stars as a decorated war vet who returns to his small Texas town from Iraq, but faces a dilemma when the Army orders him to return.
