The 20th annual New Orleans Film Festival screens this weekend in the Big Easy, with feature films, documentaries, short films and music videos from far and wide. Highlights include an opening night screening of Me and Orson Welles at the Prytania Theater with director Richard Linklater in attendance, followed by cocktails at The Big Top on Clio St. and live music from local band, Felix. Following are five days sure to fulfill the desires of every film buff in attendance, with special screenings of everything from Warner Herzog’s Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans to acclaimed dolphin-slaughter documentary The Cove. Sunday is “I Love Louisiana” Day—a day set aside specifically for the promotion and celebration of the Louisiana-made films in the festival, and the burgeoning Louisiana film industry.
